Byron
Boston - NFL/Southland- Coordinator
Byron and his wife Carolyn reside in Humble, Texas where they
are members of Mt. Zion Bible Fellowship Church. Byron attended the Gladewater
Public School system and graduated from Austin College, Sherman, Texas with a
B.S. in Economics. They have three children – Alicia, a Houston Based attorney,
Byron Jr., a Dallas Police Officer, and David, a Wide Receiver in the NFL. Byron
began his officiating career in 1977 in Dallas, Texas. He worked Texas high
school football from 1977 to 1994, including two State Championship games.
Byron began working Junior College football in 1985 and joined the staff of the
Southland Conference in 1987. In 1990 he was chosen to officiate in the
Southwest Conference. He worked Division 1AA playoff games and ended his
collegiate officiating career in the 1994 Holiday Bowl.
In 1995 Byron joined the staff of the NFL. He has worked nine (9) playoff games:

1999 AFC Wild Card (Buffalo-Tennessee)

2002 NFC Divisional (Green Bay-St. Louis)
2003 NFC Divisional (San Francisco-Tampa Bay)
2005 AFC Wild Card (Indianapolis-New England
2005 NFC Championship (Atlanta-Philadelphia).
