Land began officiating in Utah and relocated to New Mexico in 1988. He worked four high school Football State Championships. In 1995, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, NCAA Div. II, hired him for football and basketball. He called Division II national playoff games in 1997 and 1999. The Mountain West Conference picked him up in 2001, and is currently a Referee in the CFO West MWC/Big 12. He has officiated the Humanitarian, Hawaii, Cotton, Gator, Eagle Bank and Holiday Bowls. Land and his wife Lyla live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
