Carl
Paganelli - UFL/MWC
Carl Paganelli lives in Wyoming, Michigan with his
wife Mary. He has 3 sons:
Perry Paganelli - Retired Educator - NFL Official
Carl R. Paganelli- US Federal Employee - NFL Official
Dino Paganelli - Educator - NFL Official.
Carl is a former Supervisor of Officials for the Mid-American
Conference, XFL, Arena Football, AF2 and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Conference.
Carl officiated for 40 years and in that time worked 20 years
at the college level and officiated in the World League and the USFL. Carl was
both an official and also a Supervisor for the Arena Football League. He was the
1st Supervisor of Officials when the Arena Football League expanded to include
AF2.
Carl had the opportunity to be a Technical Advisor with the
Big Ten Conference prior to accepting the position of Supervisor of Officials
with the Mid-American Conference. In 2007 and 2008 David Parry, Coordinator of
Officials for the Big Ten Conference and Carl Paganelli introduced a pilot
program combining Replay Officials between the Big Ten Conference and the
Mid-American Conference
Carl was Camp Director for the Fresno Officials Camp in 2006
and 2007 under the leadership of Ken Rivera.
Carl has traveled throughout the United States and Europe as a
Clinician representing officials both on and off the field. In 1989 hel was
selected as the Supervisor of Officials for the 1st American Football World Cup
in Palermo, Italy. At the present time Carl is Involved with the Italian
Federation of Football Officials and the Serbian Federation in conducting
clinics in both countries. He is also involved with a "Officiating for Pizza"
Program in Italy in which American Officials have been invited to participate in
a program of officiating as on field officials interacting with the Italian
Officials in league games for the 2008 and 2009 season.
Carl has received numerous awards of recognition for his
contribution to sports. The Butch Lambert Award, the Grand Rapids Gridiron
Heroes for Officiating, West Michigan Mentors Award and the Grand Rapids Sports
Hall of Fame - Warren Reynolds Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
